Social justice. Youth empowerment. Mentorship. Career advice.

Everyone needs a mentor. Especially young people. Zed consultants can help.

Our Mission

Empowering young people through one-on-one mentoring while helping them discover their strengths, build resilience, and become more than ok with failure in order to ultimately succeed.

We envision a community where every youth will have a mentoring friendship. Empowering lives through one-on-one mentoring while helping youth discover their strengths to guide them toward personal, professional, social, emotional and business success.

Zed understands the turbulence of adolescence.

Hell, we remember it.

Not feeling like teachers or adults get it. Not understanding why the school - uni - job thing is so forced down our throats. Not appreciating alternatives. Not feeling listened to. Angry at the limited options being presented. It’s all normal. And from experience, and our own mistakes, we can offer a real-life dose of pragmatism that seems so lacking today. Still.

Zed offers a friendship-based outside-of-school youth mentoring program. We match caring and professional mentors with students and young people navigating their careers who will benefit from the encouragement and guidance of a mentor to more readily and willingly tap into their full potential, understand options available to their career and personal development, and ask the bold questions they’re often not even sure how to.

As young professionals ourselves, who have taken a non-linear approach to our careers, we know what it’s like navigating the daunting prospect of the future. We’re all still doing it. We can offer our insights and career learnings where we respect the intelligence and maturity of young people, and help to nudge, align and invoke resilient mindsets so that they can turn their minds to anything — so long as they understand the path to get there.

What we do

Consulting and mentoring where we treat young people like the mature people they’re bound to be, we offer:

  • developing a rigorous, resilient mindset to tackle anything, and be ok with failure, trips and grazes along the way;

  • professional development and career advice;

  • CV and cover-letter writing, tips and tweaks;

  • one-on-one mentoring — face to face and over Videocon;

  • professional mentor matching — from books to business, or hustle to start-up.

Resilience is key

We don’t learn in school, uni or from our parents generally that failure is our friend. Learn quick, dust off, fail fast, try again. This is how entrepreneurs learn how to build business, or how the most successful people have learned to deal with the inevitable challenges of life — not just professional life — but social, intimate and family. We need to learn resilience, but so far as we’re aware, there’s nothing like that taught at schools. This is where Zed mentors come in.

We believe everyone was born to be noble and achieve their full potential, whatever that may look like. We’re desperately committed to trying to help more people figure that out sooner.

Ask us about what our mentorship looks like and why Zed consultants are a great fit for young people.
